How to apply Global Workflow Templates to your accounts

In this article, we'll show you how you can apply a Global Workflow template to your accounts within PPC Sam.

Global templates are pre-built, best practice templates created by PPC Sam that you can apply to your account.

Firstly, navigate to the workflows page:

You'll find that the templates are categorised by focus area such as Search Query and Ad.

Next to each template is a check box. To enable a template in your account, simply make sure it is checked by clicking on the check box.

Hit refresh on your browser, and you'll find that the templates you've just enabled are now appearing in the list at the top of the workflows page that shows each workflow as its own column, and each account as a row.

You can filter the workflow type by searching or using the tabs along the top to find the workflow type, e.g. keyword.

Your newly added global templates will have a red N/A icon applied to mean 'newly added'.

To apply a global template to your account, you need to first create a local version (a copy of it). Think of this as creating your own library of workflows that you can add to your accounts.

Click on the N/A icon under a newly added global template and you'll see this pop up:

Open the workflow, and rename it something else. We'd recommend adding your agency name to the start of the workflow name. Press enter to save the new name.

You can then click through the steps to edit them and update them how you'd like whether that be their nicknames, or the metrics and time periods you want the process to run on.

Once you're happy with the workflow, copy the name and hit 'save as' under the 'manage templates' window:

This will open a pop up where you can save this template with you new agency name:

Hit save and click back on workflows. Refresh the page, and you'll find your newly saved local version in your list of workflows at the top of the page.

Once you've done this, you can then remove the old global template from your list by unchecking the text box next to its name in the global template list:

This will leave you with only the local versions of the workflows applied to your account.

Next, you need to activate these workflows for your selected accounts.

In the list of your imported workflows and accounts at the top of the workflows page, find your local versions and select the account rows that you want to apply a workflow on by clicking them and holding down the control key to multi select:

To apply the workflow across these accounts, simply click on one of the red N/A buttons.

You'll get the same popup as before, but instead of opening the workflow, you'll want to click on 'enable automatic run'

You can change how often you want this to run by changing the range in the 'repeats' drop down. Once you're happy with your settings, hit save.

You'll now find that the red N/A icons have changed to a green 'A' icon to represent that the workflow is running on an automatic schedule:

And that's it! You now have local versions of the global templates, updated to your needs, running automatically in your account for the client's you've selected them to run for.
